Data Protection

Rapid technological evolution and globalization have posed new challenges for the protection of personal data. These developments require a stronger and more coherent framework for data protection in the European Union to build the trust that allows citizens to be in control of their own personal data.

The European General Data Protection Regulation of April 27, 2016 (GDPR) establishes that the principles and rules relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of their personal data must, whatever their nationality or residence, respect their fundamental freedoms and rights, in particular, the right to the protection of personal data.

In Spain, the adaptation to the aforementioned Regulation has been carried out with the approval of Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights (BOE of December 6).

The essential content of the fundamental right to data protection is based on a set of mandatory rules for the person processing the information and which are aimed at protecting personal data considered in itself, while limiting the processing to that can be subdued. To this end, a set of preventive measures are defined, both legal, organizational and technical, that protect the information from the moment it is collected and the treatments that are applied to it throughout its life cycle.

The Associated Center of the UNED in Pontevedra has among its objectives to guarantee this right to all those who relate to it: students, professors, administration and service personnel and, in general, any other citizen who at some point in their life has relationship with our institution.

This page aims to provide all members of the university community and citizens with information regarding legislation on the protection of personal data and its application at the UNED Associated Center in Pontevedra.

In the event that you wish to exercise the rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation or Opposition, you must direct your request to the email address lopd@pontevedra.uned.es and follow the instructions in the ARCO Rights section.
